About the Place
Welcome to Soho Diner, an engaging culinary haven nestled in the heart of New York City. This retro-modern diner breathes a vibrant spirit, inviting guests to indulge in both delightful food and nostalgia.
As you step inside, the charming decor immediately captures your attention, reminiscent of the classic 50s diner aesthetic. With spacious seating options, including outdoor terraces, Soho Diner provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The lively ambiance, complemented by a boombox playing timeless tunes, adds to the magical experience that makes you feel as if you've stepped into your favorite movie scene, as noted by Diana Hidalgo.
The menu is a cornucopia of flavor, featuring tempting options for every palate. Take, for instance, the highly praised SoHo Burger, which Maria G described as both flavorful and satisfying, perfectly paired with a nostalgic root beer float. Vegetarians will appreciate the abundance of veggie options, while dessert lovers will find solace in the decadent cheesecake and cherry pie that balance sweetness with texture. Guests like Alex Vano have highlighted that while the diner’s prices reflect typical New York rates, the ambiance and late hours make it worth every penny.
The service at Soho Diner proves to be just as delightful as the food. Most patrons, including Cristobal Negrete, have positively commented about the helpful staff, who maintain a friendly demeanor even late into the night. Whether you’re winding down after a late-night adventure or simply enjoying a leisurely meal, the relaxed pace allows you to savor every moment—much like Its Sandra did during her three-hour visit.
One dish that deserves particular mention is their steak and eggs, highlighted by Raymond Le for its surprising quality and generous portions—dressed perfectly with a chimichurri that adds a delightful twist. The flawless fries are another standout, reflecting a meticulous approach to classic diner fare.
In essence, Soho Diner is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience that captures the joy of dining out. Each visit promises a delightful mix of nostalgia, flavorful dishes, and an atmosphere pulsating with energy. So whether you're a local or visiting NYC, Soho Diner is a stop you won't want to miss.

“ We stopped by SoHo Diner in NYC for a quick late-night snack before they closed and it did not disappoint! Hubby had the SoHo Burger along with a root beer float and I a double vanilla milkshake. The burger was flavorful and satisfying, and both drinks were the perfect classic treats – creamy, sweet, and nostalgic. Service was friendly even though it was close to closing, and the vibe was exactly what you’d want from a modern diner with a retro twist. Definitely worth the visit! ”
“ Such a cute diner. We felt we were in a movie! Service was fast and very nice. Food plates are huge. They have a boombox music which make it very special . Family of 4 . It was a great experience to remember from our trip ”
“ The vibes were off the charts, perfectly captured the 50s diner aesthetic. We ordered a cheesecake and cherry pie for dessert, didn't have a chance to try the rest of the menu though it looked somewhat promising. Expensive as always in New York, admittedly I'm not a huge pie or cheesecake fan so I thought they were alright. Big bonus is the place is open late. ”
“ Gorgeous retro-style modern diner. Beautiful decor, super friendly and helpful waiter, great food and lots of veggie options. Lovely location with outdoor seating options, and good music. Super spacious especially compared to other diner style restaurants. ”
“ This is not some run down old diner, everything here is impecable. They have clearly taken the time and put in the work to make this look pristine. The food is good, the fries in particular were flawless. The almond milk latte was great too. I expected the portions to be a little bit bigger for the price, but overall a good trade off. Service was pretty good, just not particularly enthusiastic. They do not make you feel like you have overstayed your welcome if you linger, which is good I would gladly return. ”
